Job Description

The National Bank of Canada is looking for an experienced and motivated Community Development Loan Officer to join our team. We are seeking an individual who is passionate about helping businesses, entrepreneurs, and communities reach their full potential. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the economic and social benefits of sustainable business and community development, and the ability to develop innovative and creative solutions for our clients.This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires excellent problem-solving skills, a willingness to take initiative, excellent communication skills, and the ability to foster strong relationships with clients. The successful candidate will have a degree or diploma in business, finance, economics, or a related field, and at least three years of experience in a financial institution. Responsibilities:

  • Develop innovative and creative solutions for clients to maximize economic and social benefits of sustainable business and community development
  • Identify and evaluate potential loan opportunities
  • Monitor and assess loan performance
  • Provide financial analysis, loan structuring, and negotiation support for loan transactions
  • Foster strong relationships with clients by providing excellent customer service
  • Stay up-to-date on changing policies and regulations related to community development loans
  • Assist in the development of new loan products and services
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that loans are processed efficiently
  • Prepare reports and presentations as needed
