Community Development Loan Officer

At the National Bank of Canada, we are looking for an experienced Loan Officer to join our Community Development team and help support our commitment to economic development in local communities. The ideal candidate for this position will be an excellent communicator, problem solver, and have a strong understanding of financial services and community development.This position requires a Bachelor's degree in a financial field or equivalent experience, in addition to a minimum of two years of experience in loan origination and/or underwriting, preferably in the financial services sector. Responsibilities:

1. Originate and underwrite loans for local communities.
2. Develop relationships with external stakeholders.
3. Provide expertise in financial services and community development.
4. Monitor loan activity to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
5. Develop and maintain knowledge of the financial services industry.
6. Maintain accurate records and document all loan transactions.
7. Communicate effectively with borrowers, lenders, and other stakeholders.
8. Offer creative solutions to complex financial problems.
9. Analyze financial statements and credit reports to determine creditworthiness.
10. Facilitate loan closings and ensure timely loan disbursements.
