- Safely and efficiently operate vessels in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Perform duties as directed by the Captain or other senior crew members.
- Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of the vessel.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols.
- Act as a lookout and assist with navigation and steering.
- Handle lines and assist with docking and undocking procedures.
- Perform routine tasks such as cleaning and painting.
- Maintain a high level of situational awareness at all times.
- Continuously strive to improve skills and knowledge through training and development opportunities.
- Communicate effectively with fellow crew members and superiors.

Previous Experience As An Ordinary Seaman: Møller-Maersk May Require Candidates To Have Prior Experience As An Ordinary Seaman On A Commercial Vessel. This Demonstrates The Candidate's Knowledge Of Basic Seamanship And Their Ability To Work In A Maritime Environment.
Appropriate Certification: The Candidate Must Possess The Necessary Certifications And Licenses Required For The Position. This May Include A Valid Merchant Mariner Credential (Mmc), Basic Safety Training (Bst) And/Or Standards Of Training, Certification, And Watchkeeping (Stcw) Certification.
Physical Fitness: The Job Of An Ordinary Seaman Requires Physical Strength And Stamina, As Well As The Ability To Work In Challenging Weather Conditions. Candidates Must Be Able To Pass A Physical Fitness Test And Be In Good Health To Perform The Job Duties.
Knowledge Of Safety Procedures: Safety Is Of Utmost Importance In The Maritime Industry. Candidates Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Safety Procedures And Protocols, Including Emergency Response And First Aid.
Teamwork And Communication Skills: As Part Of A Larger Crew, An Ordinary Seaman Must Have Strong Teamwork Skills And Be Able To Communicate Effectively With Other Crew Members And Superiors. This Includes Being Able To Follow Orders And Communicate Any Issues Or Concerns In A Clear And Respectful Manner.
