- Oversee all aspects of global marine operations for Møller-Maersk, including vessel scheduling, port operations, and cargo management.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall performance of marine operations.
- Manage a team of marine operations staff, providing guidance, direction, and support to ensure the team meets and exceeds performance goals.
- Ensure compliance with all industry regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements, new technologies, and best practices to enhance operations.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators, making data-driven decisions to drive continuous improvement and achieve operational excellence.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including port authorities, suppliers, and customers, to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market changes, and new technologies to identify potential risks and opportunities for the company.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing training and development for team members.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings to promote the company's reputation and network with potential partners.
Extensive Experience In Marine Operations: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 7-10 Years Of Experience In Managing Marine Operations, Preferably In A Large Shipping Company Like Møller-Maersk. This Experience Should Include Knowledge Of Vessel Operations, Port Operations, And Marine Logistics.
Strong Leadership Skills: As A Marine Operations Manager, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Leading A Team Of Marine Professionals. Hence, They Should Possess Excellent Leadership Skills, Including The Ability To Motivate And Inspire Team Members, Effective Decision-Making Abilities, And The Ability To Handle Conflicts And Challenges.
Knowledge Of International Regulations And Compliance: The Candidate Should Be Well-Versed In International Laws And Regulations Related To Marine Operations, Including Safety, Security, And Environmental Regulations. They Should Also Have Experience In Ensuring Compliance With These Regulations To Avoid Any Legal Or Operational Issues.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Effective Communication Is Crucial In Managing A Team And Coordinating With Various Stakeholders In The Shipping Industry. The Ideal Candidate Should Have Excellent Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, And The Ability To Build Strong Relationships With Internal And External Stakeholders.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Maritime Studies Or Related Field: A Strong Educational Background In Maritime Studies Or A Related Field Is Essential For This Role. A Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, Or Maritime Management Will Provide The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Excel In This Position. Additional Certifications Or Training In Marine Operations And Management Would Also Be Advantageous.
