Job Description

Meritus Health is seeking an experienced and motivated Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This individual will be responsible for maintaining the company's financial records, ensuring accuracy in reporting and compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with a proven track record of success in accounting.The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g. CPA) preferred. A minimum of two years of experience in a related accounting role is preferred. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial software is essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work in a team setting are also required. We are looking for an individual who is willing to take initiative, is eager to gain new experiences, and has an enthusiasm for learning. Responsibilites:

  1. Maintain accurate financial records for Meritus Health
  2. Ensure compliance with all financial regulations
  3. Analyze financial data and provide accurate and timely financial reporting
  4. Prepare and review financial statements, budgets, and other financial documents
  5. Manage accounts payable and receivable
  6. Reconcile bank statements and reconcile discrepancies
  7. Oversee the preparation of tax returns and other documents
  8. Monitor and analyze financial performance
  9. Assist with the preparation and review of audit reports
  10. Develop and maintain effective internal controls and procedures
  11. Develop effective relationships with external stakeholders
  12. Stay up-to-date with changes to financial regulations and best practices
