- Offer emotional support and guidance to employees in a compassionate and empathetic manner.
- Conduct intake assessments to determine employees' individual needs and develop treatment plans.
- Utilize evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques to address a variety of mental health concerns.
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as psychologists and psychiatrists, to ensure comprehensive care for employees.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of counseling sessions and progress.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards in all aspects of counseling services.
- Facilitate support groups and workshops to promote mental wellness and work-life balance.
- Provide crisis intervention and referrals to appropriate resources when necessary.
- Stay up-to-date on best practices and new developments in the field of social work and counseling.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with employees and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in team meetings and case conferences to ensure coordinated care.

Master's Degree In Social Work Or Counseling: A Strong Educational Background In Social Work Or Counseling Is Essential For This Role. Candidates Should Have A Master's Degree From An Accredited Program And Be Licensed Or Eligible For Licensure.
Experience In Employee Assistance Programs: Meritus Health Is Looking For Candidates With Prior Experience In Employee Assistance Programs, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting. This Experience Should Include Providing Counseling And Support To Employees Dealing With Personal Or Work-Related Issues.
Knowledge Of Mental Health And Substance Abuse Issues: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Mental Health And Substance Abuse Issues And Be Able To Provide Appropriate Interventions And Referrals For Employees In Need.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Social Worker Or Counselor In An Employee Assistance Program, The Candidate Must Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Engage With Employees And Build Rapport. This Includes Being Able To Listen Actively, Show Empathy, And Maintain Confidentiality.
Ability To Work Collaboratively And Independently: The Role Of A Social Worker Or Counselor In An Employee Assistance Program Requires Both Team Collaboration And Independent Work. The Candidate Should Be Able To Work Well With Others, As Well As Be Self-Motivated And Able To Manage A Caseload Independently.
