- Assist in the preparation and dispensing of medication orders for hospitalized patients.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of medication inventory and patient profiles.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure appropriate medication therapy for patients.
- Conduct routine inventory checks and assist with medication ordering and restocking.
- Prepare and package medication orders for delivery to patient care units.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations regarding medication handling and patient privacy.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any medication-related issues or concerns.
- Participate in ongoing training and educational opportunities to maintain current knowledge of medications and pharmacy practices.
- Maintain a professional and positive attitude while working in a fast-paced environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure a seamless medication delivery process.
- Assist in the maintenance and calibration of pharmacy equipment.
- Continuously evaluate and suggest improvements to the medication delivery process.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the pharmacy manager or supervisor.
A High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Pharmacy Technician At Meritus Health Must Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education. This Ensures The Candidate Has A Basic Understanding Of Math And Science, Which Are Essential For Working In A Pharmacy Setting.
Certified Pharmacy Technician (Cpht) Certification: Meritus Health Requires All Pharmacy Technicians To Be Certified By The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (Ptcb) As A Cpht. This Certification Ensures That The Candidate Has The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Perform The Duties Of A Pharmacy Technician In An Inpatient Setting.
Experience In An Inpatient Pharmacy Setting: Meritus Health Prefers Candidates With Previous Experience Working In An Inpatient Pharmacy Setting. This Experience Demonstrates The Candidate's Understanding Of Hospital Pharmacy Operations, Including Medication Dispensing, Inventory Management, And Sterile Compounding.
Strong Communication Skills: As A Pharmacy Technician At Meritus Health, The Candidate Will Interact With A Variety Of Healthcare Professionals, Including Pharmacists, Nurses, And Physicians. Excellent Communication Skills, Both Verbal And Written, Are Essential For Effective Communication And Collaboration.
