1. Accurately and efficiently register patients in the Emergency Department, ensuring all necessary information is collected and entered into the system.
2. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience.
3. Maintain a thorough understanding of hospital policies and procedures related to patient registration and insurance verification.
4. Troubleshoot any issues or concerns related to patient registration, and escalate as needed to ensure timely resolution.
5. Collaborate with other departments, such as billing and medical records, to ensure accurate and timely processing of patient information.
6. Stay up-to-date on insurance plans and coverage changes to accurately verify patient insurance and obtain necessary authorizations.
7. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
8. Communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, and other hospital staff to ensure a smooth and efficient registration process.
9. Identify and report any potential billing or insurance issues to the appropriate department.
10. Keep accurate records of all patient interactions and registrations, including any necessary follow-up or documentation.
11. Attend trainings and meetings to stay informed of any changes or updates to hospital policies and procedures.
12. Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to ensure timely and accurate patient registration.
13. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
