
Patient Registration | ED - Part Time | Nights

- Accurately and efficiently register patients in the Emergency Department, ensuring all necessary information is collected and entered into the system.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of hospital policies and procedures related to patient registration and insurance verification.
- Troubleshoot any issues or concerns related to patient registration, and escalate as needed to ensure timely resolution.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as billing and medical records, to ensure accurate and timely processing of patient information.
- Stay up-to-date on insurance plans and coverage changes to accurately verify patient insurance and obtain necessary authorizations.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, and other hospital staff to ensure a smooth and efficient registration process.
- Identify and report any potential billing or insurance issues to the appropriate department.
- Keep accurate records of all patient interactions and registrations, including any necessary follow-up or documentation.
- Attend trainings and meetings to stay informed of any changes or updates to hospital policies and procedures.
- Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to ensure timely and accurate patient registration.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For This Position Would Be A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Level Of Education And Is Able To Understand And Carry Out The Tasks Required For The Job.
Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Prior Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In Patient Registration Or A Related Field, Would Be A Valuable Qualification For This Role. This Shows That The Candidate Has A Working Knowledge Of Hospital Procedures And Terminology.
Excellent Communication Skills: Patient Registration Involves Interacting With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals On A Daily Basis. Strong Communication Skills, Both Verbal And Written, Are Essential For This Role To Ensure Accurate And Efficient Registration Processes.
Knowledge Of Medical Billing And Insurance Processes: A Good Understanding Of Medical Billing And Insurance Processes Is Important For This Role. This Includes Knowledge Of Insurance Verification, Pre-Authorization, And Billing Codes, As Well As The Ability To Accurately Enter This Information Into The System.
Ability To Work Flexible Hours: The Patient Registration Position At Meritus Health Is Part-Time And Requires Working Night Shifts. Therefore, The Candidate Must Have The Flexibility To Work Evenings And Weekends As Needed. This Ensures That The Hospital Has Coverage During Peak Hours And Allows For A Smooth Registration Process For Patients.
