- Oversee and manage all aspects of the financial aid process for students at Meritus School of Osteopathic Medicine, including applications, awarding, disbursement, and compliance.
- Serve as the main point of contact for students and families regarding financial aid inquiries and provide excellent customer service.
- Stay up-to-date on all federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations and policies to ensure compliance and accuracy in awarding.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as admissions and student services, to provide support and guidance in financial aid matters.
- Assist students in understanding the financial aid process, including completing FAFSA and other required forms.
- Evaluate and analyze financial aid applications and documents to determine eligibility and award amounts.
- Communicate and coordinate with external agencies, such as the Department of Education and loan servicers, to ensure timely and accurate processing of financial aid.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of financial aid transactions and student information.
- Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies in financial aid awards or disbursements.
- Participate in financial aid workshops and events to educate students and families on financial aid options and resources.
- Continuously review and improve financial aid processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards when handling sensitive financial information.
- Provide support to students experiencing financial difficulties and refer them to appropriate resources when needed.
- Attend meetings and trainings to stay informed on changes in financial aid regulations and policies.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by the Director of Financial Aid.
A Bachelor's Degree In Finance, Accounting, Or A Related Field.
At Least 2 Years Of Experience In Financial Aid Coordination Or A Related Role.
Knowledge Of Federal And State Financial Aid Programs And Regulations.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Work With Students, Faculty, And Staff.
Ability To Multitask And Prioritize In A Fast-Paced Environment, While Maintaining Attention To Detail And Accuracy.
