  1. Develop and implement a strategic plan for library services that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives.
  2. Manage the library budget and resources to ensure the most efficient and effective use of funds.
  3. Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and developments in the library and information sciences field and incorporate them into the organization's library services.
  4. Collaborate with other departments and institutions to expand the reach and impact of the library services.
  5. Oversee the acquisition, organization, and maintenance of the library's collection of resources, including books, journals, databases, and digital resources.
  6. Lead and manage a team of library staff, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
  7. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and publishers to negotiate pricing and access to resources.
  8. Provide training and support to healthcare professionals on how to effectively use the library's resources to support their work.
  9. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the security and confidentiality of sensitive information within the library.
  10. Evaluate and assess the effectiveness of library services and make recommendations for improvements.
  11. Communicate regularly with senior management to provide updates on library services and make recommendations for future developments.
  12. Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the library services team.
  13. Serve as a liaison between the library and other departments within the organization to ensure their information and resource needs are met.
  14. Represent the organization at professional conferences and events to stay informed and contribute to the field of library and information sciences.
  15. Maintain a high level of professionalism and ethical standards in all aspects of the job.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In Library Science Or Related Field: A Director Of Library Services At Meritus Health Should Possess A Master's Degree Or Above In Library Science, Information Science, Or A Related Field. This Educational Background Demonstrates A Strong Foundation In Library Management Principles, Research Methods, And Information Technology.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Library Management: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Have At Least 5 Years Of Experience In A Leadership Role In A Library Setting. This Experience Should Include Managing Staff, Budgeting, Implementing Strategic Initiatives, And Overseeing Library Operations.

  • Knowledge Of Healthcare Industry: Meritus Health Is A Healthcare Organization, And The Director Of Library Services Should Have A Strong Understanding Of The Healthcare Industry. This Includes Knowledge Of Medical Terminology, Healthcare Regulations, And Current Trends In Healthcare Information Management.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Leader In The Library Department, The Director Of Library Services Will Be Responsible For Collaborating With Various Departments And Stakeholders. Therefore, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Building Relationships, Promoting The Library's Services, And Advocating For Resources.

  • Technological Proficiency: In Today's Digital Age, Libraries Are Increasingly Reliant On Technology To Provide Access To Information. The Director Of Library Services At Meritus Health Should Be Well-Versed In Library Technology, Including Electronic Databases, Digital Resources, And Library Management Systems.
