- Greet and welcome patients, visitors, and staff in a warm and professional manner.
- Assist healthcare providers with patient care, including taking vital signs, collecting specimens, and preparing patients for exams.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment by sanitizing and disinfecting exam rooms and equipment.
- Update and maintain patient electronic health records accurately and efficiently.
- Schedule appointments and follow-up visits, ensuring timely and effective communication with patients.
- Educate patients about procedures, treatments, and medications as directed by healthcare providers.
- Assist with basic medical procedures, such as administering injections and performing basic lab tests.
- Monitor inventory of medical supplies and equipment, restocking as needed.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members, including nurses and front office staff, to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Provide exceptional customer service and address any patient concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.
- Attend and actively participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
- Comply with all Meritus Health policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
- Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and growth.
- Perform other duties as assigned by healthcare providers or management.
Completion Of An Accredited Medical Assistant Program: Candidates For A Certified/Non-Certified Medical Assistant Job At Meritus Health Must Have Completed An Accredited Program In Medical Assisting, Which Includes Coursework In Anatomy, Physiology, Medical Terminology, And Clinical Skills.
Certification As A Certified Medical Assistant (Cma) Or Registered Medical Assistant (Rma): Meritus Health Requires Candidates To Hold A Valid Certification As A Cma Or Rma. This Certification Is Obtained By Passing An Exam Administered By The American Association Of Medical Assistants (Aama) Or American Medical Technologists (Amt), Respectively.
Experience In A Clinical Setting: Previous Experience Working In A Clinical Setting, Such As A Hospital Or Physician's Office, Is Highly Preferred For A Certified/Non-Certified Medical Assistant Job At Meritus Health. This Experience Provides A Strong Foundation In Patient Care And Medical Office Procedures.
Knowledge Of Electronic Health Records (Ehrs): Meritus Health Utilizes Electronic Health Records, So Candidates Should Be Familiar With Ehr Systems And Have The Ability To Navigate And Document Patient Information Accurately And Efficiently.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Medical Assistants At Meritus Health Work Closely With Patients, Healthcare Professionals, And Administrative Staff. Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential To Effectively Communicate With A Diverse Group Of Individuals And Provide High-Quality Patient Care.
