Sterile Processing Technician

As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will be responsible for preparing, sterilizing, and distributing medical equipment and instruments. The successful candidate must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and experience in a healthcare setting is preferred. The successful candidate must also be certified by the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution and possess the knowledge and skills necessary to perform the job. Responsibilities of a Sterile Processing Technician:

1. Prepare, sterilize, and distribute medical equipment and instruments in accordance with established procedures.
2. Ensure that all equipment and instruments are properly labeled and stored in a clean and organized manner.
3. Maintain inventory of all supplies and equipment and place orders when necessary.
4. Ensure that all sterilization processes are performed in accordance with safety protocols.
5. Follow established safety protocols and procedures for handling hazardous materials.
6. Inspect medical equipment and instruments to ensure they are clean and in working condition.
7. Document all activities related to sterilization and distribution of supplies and equipment.
8. Follow departmental policies and procedures for sterile processing and distribution.
9. Provide customer service and respond to inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
10. Participate in quality assurance and process improvement initiatives.
