1. Dispensing Medications: The primary responsibility of a Staff Pharmacist at MercyOne will be to accurately dispense medications to patients. This includes reviewing prescriptions for accuracy, selecting and preparing the correct medications, and providing appropriate counseling to patients.
2. Ensuring Patient Safety: The Staff Pharmacist will play a crucial role in ensuring patient safety by thoroughly reviewing medication orders for potential interactions, allergies, and other contraindications. They will also be responsible for monitoring patients' medication therapy and making appropriate recommendations to healthcare providers.
3. Utilizing Clinical Knowledge: As a Staff Pharmacist, you will be expected to utilize your clinical knowledge and expertise to provide safe and effective medication therapy to patients. This may include adjusting dosages, providing drug information to healthcare providers, and participating in medication management programs.
4. Collaborating with Healthcare Team: The Staff Pharmacist will work closely with other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive patient care. This may include consulting with physicians and nurses, participating in multidisciplinary rounds, and collaborating with other pharmacists.
