  1. Provide individualized and compassionate care to patients with mental health and substance abuse issues.
  2. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
  3. Administer medications and monitor their effectiveness on patients.
  4. Educate patients and their families on mental health and substance abuse disorders, treatments, and self-care.
  5. Utilize strong clinical skills and knowledge to assess and manage patients' physical and emotional needs.
  6. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation.
  7. Monitor and report any changes in patient's condition to the healthcare team.
  8. Adhere to all policies, procedures, and standards of nursing practice.
  9. Utilize evidence-based practices to provide the best possible care for patients.
  10. Advocate for patients' rights and ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.
  11. Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance knowledge and skills.
  12. Follow infection control protocols to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients.
  13. Serve as a resource and mentor for other team members.
  14. Demonstrate professionalism and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve nursing practice to provide the highest quality of care.

Job Qualifications
  • Active Rn Licensure: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Possess An Active Registered Nurse License In The State Of Iowa Or Be Eligible To Obtain One.

  • Behavioral Health Experience: Previous Experience In A Behavioral Health Setting Is Highly Preferred For This Role. Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Mental Health Disorders And Treatment Modalities.

  • Bls Certification: Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification Is Required For This Position. Candidates Must Be Able To Provide Proof Of Current Certification Upon Hire.

  • Strong Communication Skills: As A Registered Nurse In Behavioral Health, Effective Communication Is Essential. Candidates Should Possess Excellent Verbal And Written Communication Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals.

  • Team Player: Mercyone Values Teamwork And Collaboration. The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Be A Team Player Who Is Able To Work Well With Others In A Fast-Paced And Ever-Changing Environment.
