  1. Perform quality assurance checks and calibrations on all radiation therapy equipment to ensure accurate treatment delivery.
  2. Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with radiation oncologists.
  3. Conduct patient simulations and create treatment plans using advanced imaging techniques.
  4. Monitor and analyze patient treatments to ensure proper radiation dosage and treatment accuracy.
  5. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
  6. Stay up-to-date with advancements in medical physics and make recommendations for implementing new technologies and techniques.
  7. Maintain accurate and organized documentation of treatment plans and patient records.
  8. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols related to radiation therapy.
  9. Train and educate healthcare staff on radiation safety and proper use of equipment.
  10. Participate in research and development projects to improve radiation therapy techniques and outcomes.
  11. Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education and support throughout the treatment process.
  12. Collaborate with external agencies, such as government agencies and accrediting bodies, to ensure compliance and maintain accreditation.
  13. Attend continuing education courses and conferences to expand knowledge and skills in the field of medical physics.
  14. Adhere to ethical and professional standards in all aspects of work.
  15. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while representing MercyOne and promoting the organization's mission and values.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Or Doctoral Degree In Medical Physics: A Strong Educational Background In Medical Physics Is Essential For A Medical Physicist At Mercyone. This Degree Should Be From An Accredited Program And Demonstrate A Comprehensive Understanding Of Radiation Therapy, Diagnostic Imaging, And Radiation Safety.

  • Board Certification: Candidates Should Be Board-Certified By The American Board Of Radiology (Abr) In Therapeutic Medical Physics Or Diagnostic Medical Physics. This Certification Ensures That The Candidate Has Met Rigorous Standards And Has The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Practice Medical Physics.

  • Clinical Experience: Mercyone Looks For Candidates With At Least 3-5 Years Of Clinical Experience In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting. This Experience Should Include The Use Of Advanced Technologies Such As Linear Accelerators, Ct Scanners, And Mri Machines.

  • Knowledge Of Regulations And Safety Standards: Being Well-Versed In Local, State, And Federal Regulations And Safety Standards Is Crucial For A Medical Physicist At Mercyone. This Includes Knowledge Of Radiation Safety, Quality Assurance, And Accreditation Requirements.

  • Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: As Part Of A Multidisciplinary Team, A Medical Physicist At Mercyone Must Have Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills. This Includes The Ability To Collaborate With Radiation Oncologists, Radiologists, And Other Healthcare Professionals To Ensure The Safe And Effective Delivery Of Radiation Therapy And Diagnostic Imaging Services.
