
County Counsel
Advise the Board of Supervisors and County Executive Officer on legal matters. Preparation of legal opinions and the revision of such opinions developed by staff counsels. Defense of the County, commissions, advisory boards, the courts and authorities against lawsuits and claims. Establish, implement, and achieve department goals and objectives. Represent the County and its Department with the community and other agencies. Administer department budget, personnel and programs; train, evaluate and supervise staff. Conduct presentations; attend meetings of commissions, advisory boards, the courts and authorities. Analyze data, interpret policies, procedures and regulations; develop appropriate conclusions.
Broad and extensive professional legal experience in civil law
Experience in working with the legal problems of a government jurisdiction.
At least 2 years of the background and experience must have been in a management or full supervisory capacity.
Knowledge of The Government Code and other California statutes and their application to governmental jurisdictions.
