Job Description

  1. Oversee and manage all aspects of the Office of Research & Project Administration, including budget, staffing, and operations.
  2. Develop and implement strategic plans to advance research initiatives and projects in alignment with the institution's mission.
  3. Lead and mentor a team of research administrators and project managers to ensure efficient and effective management of projects.
  4. Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and pursue new research opportunities and partnerships.
  5. Monitor and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and institutional policies related to research and project administration.
  6. Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including researchers, collaborators, and funding agencies.
  7. Develop and manage budgets for research projects, ensuring responsible and effective use of resources.
  8. Oversee the development and submission of grant proposals and manage post-award activities.
  9. Stay current with developments in research administration and project management, and implement best practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  10. Represent the institution at conferences, meetings, and other events related to research and project administration.
  11. Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership on the status and progress of research projects and initiatives.
  12. Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation within the Office of Research & Project Administration.
  13. Participate in the recruitment, hiring, and performance evaluation of staff in the department.
  14. Serve as a resource and subject matter expert for researchers and staff on matters related to research administration and project management.
  15. Uphold the institution's values and promote a diverse and inclusive work environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Knowledge And Experience In Research Administration: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Have A Deep Understanding Of The Research Process And Be Familiar With All Aspects Of Research Administration, Including Grant Management, Budgeting, Compliance, And Reporting.

  • Strong Leadership And Management Skills: As A Vp, This Individual Will Be Responsible For Overseeing A Team Of Research Administrators And Project Managers. Therefore, They Should Possess Strong Leadership Skills, Be Able To Motivate And Guide Their Team, And Have Experience Managing Complex Projects.

  • Advanced Degree In A Relevant Field: A Graduate Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Or A Scientific Discipline Is Highly Desirable For This Role. It Demonstrates A Strong Academic Background And A Deep Understanding Of The Research Field.

  • Proven Track Record Of Securing Funding And Managing Grants: Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Is A World-Renowned Research Institution, And The Vp Of Office Of Research & Project Administration Will Be Responsible For Securing And Managing Significant Amounts Of Research Funding. Therefore, A Successful Candidate Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Securing And Managing Grants From Various Funding Sources.
