Job Description

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Computational Biologist to join our world-class research team. The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree in a quantitative field such as bioinformatics, computer science, or a related area and a track record of success in developing and implementing novel computational approaches to address research questions in the field of cancer biology. As a Senior Computational Biologist, you will collaborate with a diverse and highly accomplished team of scientists to advance our understanding of cancer biology and develop new tools to improve diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of cancer. Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement novel computational approaches to address research questions in the field of cancer biology.
  2. Develop new tools to improve diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of cancer.
  3. Collaborate with a diverse and highly accomplished team of scientists.
  4. Monitor and evaluate data from various sources to identify trends or patterns related to cancer biology.
  5. Communicate research findings to stakeholders and colleagues.
  6. Develop and maintain a working knowledge of scientific literature in the field of cancer biology.
  7. Stay abreast of new technologies and advances in the field of computational biology.
  8. Implement secure process for handling and sharing data.
  9. Create detailed reports and documents related to research findings.
  10. Participate in grant writing and other fundraising activities.
