
Psycho-Oncology Psychiatrist

- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments of cancer patients to identify their psychological needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide evidence-based psychotherapy and psychopharmacology treatments for patients with cancer and their families.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Monitor and manage the mental health of patients throughout their cancer treatment journey, including during hospital stays and outpatient visits.
- Educate patients and their families about the psychological effects of cancer and potential coping strategies.
- Conduct research and contribute to the development of new psycho-oncology treatments and interventions.
- Serve as a resource and consultant for other healthcare providers on the psychological aspects of cancer care.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and educational activities to enhance interdisciplinary care and treatment planning.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in patient care and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements and research in the fields of psychiatry and oncology to provide the best possible care to patients.
- Participate in community outreach and education programs to raise awareness about the psychological impact of cancer and available support resources.
- Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and sensitivity towards patients and their families during difficult emotional situations.

- Adhere to all departmental policies and procedures, including quality improvement initiatives and compliance regulations.
Board Certification In Psychiatry And Subspecialty Certification In Psycho-Oncology
Extensive Experience In Treating Patients With Cancer And Their Families, Including Knowledge Of The Psychological And Emotional Impact Of Cancer Diagnosis, Treatment, And Survivorship
Familiarity With The Latest Advances In Psycho-Oncology Research And Evidence-Based Treatment Methods
Ability To Collaborate Effectively With A Multidisciplinary Team, Including Oncologists, Nurses, Social Workers, And Other Mental Health Professionals
