Plant Operator

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is looking for a highly motivated and passionate Plant Operator to join our team. The Plant Operator is an integral part of our team, as this position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the building’s mechanical equipment. In this role, the Plant Operator will ensure efficient operation of all equipment to meet the organization’s needs. The ideal candidate will have an aptitude for problem-solving and have the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting. Required Qualifications:-Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude-Ability to read and interpret blueprints and diagrams-Excellent safety and communication skills-Experience in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting a wide range of mechanical and electrical equipment-Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team to complete tasks efficiently-Knowledge of applicable regulations and codes related to building operations and maintenance-High school diploma or equivalent and/or relevant experience

Responsibilities:

1. Operate and maintain the building’s mechanical and electrical equipment in an efficient and safe manner.
2. Read and interpret blueprints and diagrams.
3. Troubleshoot and repair a wide range of mechanical and electrical equipment.
4. Follow applicable regulations and codes related to building operations and maintenance.
5. Collaborate with team members to complete tasks efficiently.
6. Maintain a safe working environment in accordance with MSKCC safety protocols.
7. Perform regular checks on equipment and systems to ensure proper operation.
8. Monitor energy usage and develop strategies to reduce energy costs.
9. Respond to service calls and emergency situations in a timely manner.
10. Keep detailed records of maintenance activities.
