Operating Room Nurse

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is looking for an experienced Operating Room Nurse to join our dynamic and passionate team. Qualifications:• Current RN license in the state of New York• A minimum of two years of recent experience in an operating room setting• Ability to work collaboratively with members of the healthcare team• Knowledge of perioperative nursing standards and best practice• Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment• BLS and ACLS certification

Responsibilities:

1. Assess patients’ condition and provide nursing care before, during, and after surgery.
2. Monitor and manage patient’s vital signs, pain, and comfort level.
3. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by medical professionals.
4. Maintain a safe and sterile environment during surgical procedures.
5. Assist surgeons during operations, providing sterile instruments and supplies as requested.
6. Document patient care and progress in electronic medical records.
7. Educate patients and family members about perioperative care and postoperative instructions.
8. Ensure compliance with applicable standards of practice, policies, and regulations.
9. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure quality patient care.
10. Utilize advanced problem-solving and critical thinking skills in a fast-paced environment.
