- Develop and implement educational programs for nurses that align with the organization's mission, vision, and values.
- Conduct needs assessments to identify learning gaps and develop targeted educational interventions.
- Collaborate with nursing leaders to assess and address the ongoing learning needs of the nursing staff.
- Utilize evidence-based practice and current research to design educational content and materials.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs through data analysis and feedback.
- Provide guidance and support to nursing staff in the implementation of new policies, procedures, and technologies.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in nursing education and professional development.
- Mentor and coach nursing staff to enhance their knowledge and skills.
- Identify opportunities for continuing education and professional development for nursing staff.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in nursing education.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordination and integration of education initiatives.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth among nursing staff.
- Maintain accurate records of educational activities and outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to nursing education and development.
- Represent the organization at local, regional, and national nursing education conferences and events.
Valid Nursing License: The Nursing Professional Development Specialist Must Possess A Valid Nursing License In The State Of New York.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Clinical Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 5 Years Of Experience As A Registered Nurse, Preferably In An Acute Care Or Oncology Setting.
Master's Degree In Nursing Or Related Field: A Master's Degree In Nursing Or A Related Field Is Required For This Position. Specialization In Nursing Education Or A Nursing Professional Development Certification Is Preferred.
Strong Communication And Teaching Skills: The Nursing Professional Development Specialist Must Have Excellent Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, To Effectively Educate And Train Nursing Staff.
Knowledge Of Adult Learning Principles: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Adult Learning Principles And Be Able To Apply Them In Developing And Delivering Educational Programs For Nursing Staff. Prior Experience In Instructional Design And Curriculum Development Is A Plus.
