
Histotechnologist
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is looking for a highly motivated and skilled Histotechnologist to join our team. The ideal candidate for this role will possess excellent organizational skills and a deep knowledge of histology techniques. Our Histotechnologist will be responsible for preparing tissue samples for microscopic examination, including cutting, staining, and mounting tissue sections for diagnosis. The successful candidate must have a minimum of an Associate's degree in Histology or related field, as well as at least 3 years of experience in a histology laboratory setting. Responsibilities:
- Prepare tissue samples for microscopic examination, including cutting, staining, and mounting tissue sections for diagnosis.
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the laboratory's histology operations.
- Utilize a variety of laboratory instruments, equipment, and reagents to perform histology tasks.
- Perform data analysis and interpretation of lab results.
- Maintain detailed records of laboratory tests and results.
- Train and supervise junior histotechnologists.
- Develop and implement histology protocols and procedures.
- Keep up with advances in the field of histology and stay abreast of new technologies and techniques.
- Comply with all safety protocols and regulations.
- Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure timely completion of tasks.
Bachelor's Degree In A Biological Science Field
Certification As A Histotechnologist (Ht) Or Histotechnician (Htl) From A Recognized Certifying Organization
Knowledge Of Histology Laboratory Safety
Knowledge Of Principles And Theories Of Histology
Knowledge Of Laboratory Quality Control
