
Epic Portfolio Manager - Patient Safety and Quality

- Develop and implement a comprehensive Epic portfolio strategy for patient safety and quality at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
- Lead and manage a team of project managers, analysts, and other staff to ensure successful execution of the Epic portfolio.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinical and operational leaders, to identify and prioritize system and process improvements.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization to gain buy-in and support for portfolio initiatives.
- Monitor and report on portfolio progress, identifying and addressing any potential barriers or risks.
- Utilize data and analytics to drive continuous improvement and track performance against patient safety and quality metrics.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in healthcare technology and quality improvement, incorporating them into portfolio strategy and execution.
- Manage the budget and resources for the Epic portfolio, ensuring efficient and effective use of allocated funds.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on Epic and patient safety and quality, providing guidance and support to team members and other stakeholders.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the portfolio team and across the organization.
- Participate in relevant committees and meetings to represent the Epic portfolio and provide updates on progress and initiatives.
- Continuously evaluate and improve processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of Epic system usage for patient safety and quality.
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with Epic vendor and other external partners to leverage resources and maximize portfolio outcomes.
- Act as a change agent, promoting and driving adoption of new processes and technologies to improve patient safety and quality of care.
- Uphold the values and mission of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in all portfolio activities and interactions.
Strong Knowledge Of Patient Safety And Quality: A Successful Epic Portfolio Manager Must Have A Deep Understanding Of Patient Safety And Quality Initiatives And How They Relate To Electronic Health Records Systems. This Includes Knowledge Of Relevant Regulations And Standards Such As Hipaa And Joint Commission Requirements.
Extensive Experience With Epic Ehr: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience Working With Epic Electronic Health Record Systems, Including Specific Experience In Managing And Optimizing The System For Patient Safety And Quality. Certification In Epic Modules Related To Patient Safety And Quality Is Highly Desirable.
Project Management Skills: The Role Of A Epic Portfolio Manager Involves Overseeing Multiple Projects And Initiatives Related To Patient Safety And Quality. The Candidate Should Have Proven Experience In Project Management, Including Budgeting, Resource Allocation, And Timeline Management.
Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills: As A Key Member Of The Patient Safety And Quality Team, The Epic Portfolio Manager Must Have Excellent Communication Skills And The Ability To Collaborate Effectively With Various Stakeholders, Including Clinicians, It Professionals, And Leadership.
Quality Improvement Experience: Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Is Committed To Continuous Quality Improvement, And The Epic Portfolio Manager Must Have A Track Record Of Implementing Successful Quality Improvement Initiatives. Experience With Lean Six Sigma Or Other Quality Improvement Methodologies Is A Plus.
