
Clinical Radiotherapy Physicist
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Clinical Radiotherapy Physicist to join our team. As a member of the Radiation Oncology division, you will provide essential support to the radiation oncology team by using your expertise and knowledge to help ensure the safe and accurate delivery of radiation treatments. As a Clinical Radiotherapy Physicist, you will be responsible for advising on the selection, application, and operation of radiation therapy equipment, as well as performing dosimetry calculations and quality assurance on all treatments. To be successful in this role, you must have a degree in physics, medical physics, or a related field, as well as a board certification in medical physics or radiation oncology physics. Additionally, you must have at least two years of experience in medical physics or radiation oncology physics in a clinical setting. A strong commitment to patient safety and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Advise on the selection, application, and operation of radiation therapy equipment.
- Perform dosimetry calculations and quality assurance on all treatments.
- Ensure safe and accurate delivery of radiation treatments.
- Maintain board certification in medical physics or radiation oncology physics.
- Develop and implement protocols for radiation therapy equipment.
- Monitor and perform routine maintenance on radiation therapy equipment.
- Collaborate with other members of the radiation oncology team to ensure patient safety.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding treatment plans and protocols.
- Participate in research projects related to radiation oncology physics.
- Stay up-to-date on advances in the field of medical physics and radiation oncology physics.
