As a Clinical Nurse in our Pre-Surgical Center, you will play a crucial role in preparing our patients for surgery and ensuring their safety and comfort throughout their journey.   1. Provide expert nursing care to patients in the Pre-Surgical Center, ensuring the highest quality of care is delivered at all times.
  2. Assess and monitor patients' physical and emotional well-being, identifying any changes in condition and taking appropriate action.
  3. Prepare patients for surgery by obtaining and documenting vital signs, administering medications as needed, and providing emotional support.
  4. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  5. Educate patients and their families about their surgical procedures, post-operative care, and any necessary lifestyle changes.
  6. Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols and monitor patients for any adverse reactions.
  7. Ensure the safety and comfort of patients throughout their surgical journey, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases.
  8. Document all patient care activities accurately and thoroughly in electronic medical records.
  9. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all equipment is functioning properly and stocked with necessary supplies.
  10. Participate in continuous education and training to maintain and enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
  11. Comply with all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  12. Serve as a patient advocate, addressing any concerns or needs that may arise during the pre-surgical process.
  13. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to improve patient outcomes and promote a positive patient experience.
  14. Serve as a mentor and resource for less experienced clinical staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
  15. Adhere to the hospital's mission and values, promoting a culture of compassion, excellence, and patient-centered care.
  16. Demonstrate a strong commitment to professional development and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
  17. Maintain confidentiality of all patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  18. Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and procedures to enhance patient care and outcomes.

Job Qualifications
  • Current Rn License In The State Of New York

  • Bls And Acls Certification

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Equivalent Education And Experience

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Pre-Surgical Or Critical Care Setting

  • Experience With Electronic Medical Records Systems And Strong Computer Skills
