Clinical Nurse - Pre Anesthesia

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is looking for a Clinical Nurse – Pre Anesthesia to join our world-renown team of specialty nurses. This position is critical in providing pre-operative support to patients undergoing anesthesia. We are looking for a compassionate, patient-focused individual with excellent communication and organizational skills. To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate must have a current Registered Nurse license and BSN, as well as at least two years of proven experience in a pre-anesthesia setting. Responsibilities:

1. Provide pre-operative nursing care to patients undergoing anesthesia, including assessment, patient education, and preparation.
2. Administer medications and treatments and monitor responses to anesthesia.
3. Maintain accurate and complete patient records and document patient care according to hospital standards.
4. Monitor patient vital signs and other parameters as necessary, and report any abnormal findings to the anesthesia team.
5. Perform patient assessments and obtain patient history prior to anesthesia.
6. Communicate effectively with patients and their families to ensure understanding of pre-operative instructions and post-operative care.
7. Coordinate with other healthcare team members to ensure proper patient care and comfort.
8. Participate in quality improvement activities to ensure best practice standards are met.
9. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
10. Participate in in-service and continuing education activities as required.
