Central Processing Technician

We are seeking an experienced Central Processing Technician to join our team at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. As a critical member of the patient care team, the Central Processing Technician is responsible for providing a safe, efficient and effective processing environment for supplies and equipment. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as experience with sterilization techniques and medical instrumentation. The successful candidate will be committed to providing quality patient care and promoting a positive work environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Maintain a safe and efficient processing environment for supplies and equipment.
2. Ensure sterilization techniques are in compliance with safety standards.
3. Perform quality control checks on medical instrumentation.
4. Monitor inventory of supplies and equipment and order replacements as needed.
5. Maintain records of sterilized items and equipment.
6. Follow established policies and procedures for central processing.
7. Assist with training new staff members in the use of sterilization techniques and equipment.
8. Provide feedback and suggestions to improve the sterilization process.
9. Ensure all areas of the central processing area are clean and organized.
10. Identify and report any problems or issues with supplies and equipment to the appropriate personnel.
11. Promote a positive and professional work environment.
12. Uphold safety guidelines and standards in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
