- Oversee and manage the operations of core facilities at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
- Develop and implement strategies for the efficient and effective functioning of core facilities.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards in the operation of core facilities.
- Lead and mentor a team of core facility staff, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
- Collaborate with researchers and scientists to understand their needs and provide appropriate support and resources.
- Develop and maintain budgets for core facilities, including managing expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Continuously evaluate and improve processes and procedures within core facilities to optimize efficiency and quality of service.
- Communicate regularly with senior management and other stakeholders regarding the status and performance of core facilities.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in scientific research and incorporate them into the operations of core facilities.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork and supports a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Act as a liaison between core facilities and other departments within the organization.
- Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes related to core facility operations.
- Represent Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center at conferences and other professional events to showcase our research initiatives and core facilities.
- Ensure the timely and accurate completion of all administrative tasks related to core facility operations.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards in all aspects of job responsibilities.
A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Managing And Overseeing Core Facilities In A Research Setting. This Includes Expertise In Budget Planning, Resource Allocation, And Personnel Management.
A Proven Track Record Of Successfully Implementing And Optimizing New Technologies And Research Methods In Core Facilities, Such As Advanced Imaging, Genomics, Or Proteomics.
A Strong Background In Scientific Research, With A Phd In A Relevant Field Such As Biology, Biochemistry, Or Biotechnology. This Includes A Deep Understanding Of The Latest Trends And Developments In The Field.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, As The Associate Research Director Will Be Responsible For Collaborating With Various Research Groups And Leading A Team Of Core Facility Staff.
Experience In Grant Writing And Securing External Funding For Core Facility Projects. This Includes A Demonstrated Ability To Develop Strategic Partnerships With External Institutions And Industry Partners.
