Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our team as an Assistant General Counsel II – HR Legal.   • Provide legal support and guidance to the Human Resources department at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with HR professionals and other stakeholders to shape policies and procedures that promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Utilize strong background in employment law to advise on legal matters related to HR practices and policies.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in employment laws and regulations and advise HR department accordingly.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of training programs for HR staff on legal issues.
  • Review and revise HR policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis on complex legal issues related to HR practices.
  • Represent the organization in legal proceedings related to employment matters.
  • Maintain accurate and organized legal documentation related to HR practices.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of employees, including senior leadership, regarding legal issues and best practices.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Legal team to provide comprehensive legal support to the organization.
  • Continuously assess and improve HR legal processes and procedures.
  • Serve as a role model for ethical and professional behavior within the organization.
  • Actively participate in professional development opportunities to enhance legal knowledge and skills.

Job Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor Degree From An Accredited Law School.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience Practicing Employment Law, Preferably In A Healthcare Or Academic Setting.

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of Federal And State Employment Laws, Regulations, And Court Decisions.

  • Excellent Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Provide Clear And Concise Legal Advice To Hr And Management.

  • Strong Written And Verbal Communication Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams And Handle Sensitive And Confidential Information.
