- Provide high-quality, compassionate and evidence-based care to patients with complex thoracic conditions under the supervision of a physician.
- Collaborate with the thoracic surgery team to develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and document findings accurately.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as imaging and laboratory tests, to aid in diagnosis and treatment.
- Prescribe medications, treatments, and therapies as appropriate based on patient needs and in accordance with state regulations and institutional policies.
- Educate patients and their families on their condition, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
- Monitor and manage patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Assist in surgical procedures, including pre-operative and post-operative care.
- Provide support and guidance to nursing staff and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
- Stay current with advancements in the field of thoracic surgery and participate in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Adhere to all institutional policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety and confidentiality.

Current Certification And Licensure As A Physician Assistant Or Nurse Practitioner In The State Of New York.
Graduate Degree In Physician Assistant Or Nurse Practitioner Program From An Accredited Institution.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Setting, Preferably In Thoracic Surgery Or A Related Field.
Proven Ability To Work Independently And Make Critical Decisions In A Fast-Paced, High Acuity Environment.
Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of Thoracic Surgeries And Related Procedures, Including Post-Operative Care And Management.
