Job Description

Medtronic is looking for a talented and highly motivated Sr. Principal Mechanical Process Development Engineer to join our team. We are looking for an engineer with exceptional technical skills, a passion for collaborating with colleagues, and a commitment to operational excellence.This role requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years of experience in the medical device industry. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering design and development in a highly regulated industry. They should have a track record of successful experience in leading mechanical design projects, process improvement initiatives, and process development from concept development through production. A strong understanding of quality requirements, including Design Verification & Validation, Design History File requirements, and Risk Management processes is essential.The Sr. Principal Mechanical Process Development Engineer must also have a strong understanding of FDA, ISO, and other medical device regulations. They must be able to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization, demonstrate leadership skills, and demonstrate an ability to problem-solve complex mechanical engineering issues. This role requires someone with excellent project management skills and the ability to quickly learn and understand new technologies.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead mechanical design projects and process improvement initiatives from concept development through production.
  2. Develop and maintain mechanical engineering design and development processes in a highly regulated industry.
  3. Ensure compliance with FDA, ISO, and other medical device regulations.
  4. Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  5. Demonstrate strong leadership skills and an ability to problem-solve complex mechanical engineering issues.
  6. Manage projects with excellent project management skills.
  7. Quickly learn and understand new technologies.
  8. Ensure quality requirements are met, including Design Verification & Validation, Design History File requirements, and Risk Management processes.
