  1. Lead the research and development of polymer-based materials for use in medical devices, ensuring they meet the highest quality and safety standards.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize research projects that align with company goals and objectives.
  3. Design and execute experiments to optimize polymer properties and performance for specific medical applications.
  4. Stay updated on the latest advancements in polymer chemistry and apply them to the development of new materials and processes.
  5. Conduct thorough analysis and interpretation of data, and communicate findings and recommendations to team members and leadership.
  6. Manage and mentor a team of junior scientists, providing guidance and support in their research projects.
  7. Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and vendors to access new technologies and materials.
  8. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies in all research activities.
  9. Contribute to the writing and review of patents, scientific publications, and technical reports.
  10. Continuously monitor and improve processes for efficient and cost-effective polymer development.
  11. Participate in cross-functional meetings and present updates on research progress and findings.
  12. Maintain a safe and organized laboratory environment and adhere to all safety protocols.
  13. Act as a subject matter expert in polymer chemistry and provide technical expertise and guidance to other departments.
  14. Represent Medtronic at conferences, symposiums, and other industry events to showcase our advancements in polymer research.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree: A Senior Polymer Research Scientist At Medtronic Should Possess An Advanced Degree (Phd Or Equivalent) In Polymer Science, Materials Engineering, Or A Related Field.

  • Extensive Experience: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience In Polymer Research, With A Significant Portion Of That Experience Focused On Medical Devices Or Related Industries.

  • Strong Technical Skills: The Ideal Candidate Will Have A Deep Understanding Of Polymer Properties, Characterization Techniques, And Processing Methods, As Well As Experience With Statistical Analysis And Design Of Experiments.

  • Leadership Abilities: As A Senior Level Position, Candidates Should Be Able To Demonstrate Strong Leadership Skills, Including The Ability To Lead And Mentor A Team, Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams, And Manage Multiple Projects Simultaneously.

  • Knowledge Of Regulatory Requirements: Medtronic Is A Highly Regulated Industry, And Candidates Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Relevant Regulations And Standards Related To Medical Device Materials And Processes, Including Fda And Iso Requirements.
