Job Description

At Medtronic, we are looking for an experienced Senior Medical Safety Specialist who is passionate about improving patient outcomes and ensuring the safety of our products. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a dedication to furthering our mission of transforming healthcare.The Senior Medical Safety Specialist will play an integral role in leading the medical safety program for Medtronic products throughout the product lifecycle. The successful candidate will have the necessary skills and qualifications to ensure compliance with regulations and standards, while keeping patient safety at the forefront of their focus.Qualifications:- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry, preferably in a safety discipline.- Expertise in medical device regulation and risk management principles, including ISO 14971 and IEC 60601-1.- Proven ability to lead and mentor a team, as well as to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.- In-depth knowledge of product safety regulations and standards, such as CFR 21 Part 820.- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.- A Bachelor’s degree in a scientific-related field or equivalent experience.If you have the qualifications and enthusiasm to join a world-leading medical device company and help us make a difference in people’s lives, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and lead the medical safety program for Medtronic products, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  2. Monitor and review medical device reports and safety-related data and share findings with appropriate stakeholders.
  3. Mentor and lead a team of medical safety specialists.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure patient safety.
  5. Provide guidance to the team on medical device regulation and risk management principles and standards, such as ISO 14971 and IEC 60601-1.
  6. Monitor safety-related performance metrics and analyze results to identify areas for improvement.
  7. Prepare and present medical safety reports to internal and external stakeholders.
  8. Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and industry partners.
  9. Stay up to date on relevant industry trends and regulations.
