  1. Develop and implement control systems for medical devices to ensure the safety, reliability, and efficacy of products.
  2. Conduct research and analysis to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization of control systems.
  3. Design and test control algorithms and software for medical devices.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate controls systems into product designs.
  5. Provide technical expertise and guidance to other engineers and project teams.
  6. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards in all control system designs.
  7. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or challenges related to control systems during the development process.
  8. Continuously monitor and evaluate control systems for performance and make necessary improvements or modifications.
  9. Stay updated on industry advancements and incorporate new technologies into control system designs.
  10. Participate in design reviews and provide recommendations for enhancements or changes to improve product performance.
  11. Manage and maintain project timelines and budgets related to control system development.
  12. Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to provide updates on control system development and progress.
  13. Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, quality, and ethics.
  14. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
  15. Maintain accurate documentation and records of control system designs and development processes.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Experience In Control System Design And Implementation: A Senior Controls Engineer At Medtronic Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Designing And Implementing Control Systems For Medical Devices. They Should Be Well-Versed In Various Control Techniques And Have A Track Record Of Successful Projects.

  • Proficiency In Plc Programming And Hmi Development: Medtronic Uses Plcs And Hmis Extensively In Their Medical Devices. A Senior Controls Engineer Should Possess Strong Programming Skills And Be Able To Develop And Troubleshoot Complex Logic And Graphical Interfaces.

  • Knowledge Of Relevant Standards And Regulations: As Medtronic Is A Highly Regulated Industry, A Senior Controls Engineer Should Have A Comprehensive Understanding Of Relevant Standards And Regulations, Such As Iso 13485, Fda Regulations, And Iec 60601. They Should Also Have Experience In Implementing These Requirements In Control System Design.

  • Experience With Project Management And Team Leadership: A Senior Controls Engineer Is Expected To Lead Projects And Work Collaboratively With Cross-Functional Teams. They Should Have Experience In Project Management, Including Planning, Scheduling, And Budgeting, As Well As Strong Leadership Skills To Guide And Motivate Team Members.

  • Strong Problem-Solving And Analytical Skills: Medtronic's Medical Devices Are Complex, And A Senior Controls Engineer Should Possess Strong Problem-Solving And Analytical Skills To Troubleshoot Issues And Optimize Control Systems. They Should Also Be Able To Analyze And Interpret Data To Make Informed Decisions And Recommendations.
