  1. Lead the development and implementation of human-centered design strategies for medical devices to improve patient outcomes and user experience.
  2. Manage and mentor a team of human factors engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product development, marketing, and clinical teams to identify user needs and translate them into design requirements.
  4. Conduct user research, usability testing, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure that products are safe and easy to use.
  5. Utilize human factors engineering principles and tools to design and evaluate medical devices, including usability testing, task analysis, and human error analysis.
  6. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in human factors engineering and apply them to product design and development.
  7. Develop and maintain design control documentation, including human factors engineering plans, usability engineering files, and design verification and validation protocols.
  8. Lead human factors engineering activities throughout the product development process, from concept development to post-market surveillance.
  9. Act as a subject matter expert in human factors engineering, providing guidance and support to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  10. Continuously drive innovation and improvement in the design process to enhance the user experience and meet regulatory requirements.
  11. Communicate human factors engineering concepts and findings to non-technical stakeholders, including senior management and regulatory bodies.
  12. Collaborate with regulatory affairs to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations, including FDA Human Factors Engineering Guidance.
  13. Represent the human factors engineering team in meetings with customers, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.
  14. Adhere to project timelines and budgets while ensuring high-quality work.
  15. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the human factors engineering team.
  16. Embody Medtronic's mission to make healthcare better and positively impact the lives of patients worldwide.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Human Factors Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Or A Related Field.

  • At Least 7 Years Of Experience In Human Factors Design And Usability Engineering Within The Medical Device Industry.

  • Strong Understanding Of Relevant Human Factors Regulations And Standards, Such As Fda Human Factors Engineering Guidance And Iso 62366.

  • Proven Track Record Of Leading And Managing Human Factors Engineering Projects, Including User Research, Usability Testing, And Risk Analysis.

  • Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With Cross-Functional Teams And Present Human Factors Data To Stakeholders.
