  1. Maintain accurate and organized medical records for patients.
  2. Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, patients, and their families.
  3. Assist with scheduling appointments and coordinating patient care.
  4. Monitor and order supplies for the unit.
  5. Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.
  6. Prepare and maintain patient charts, including updating information and filing reports.
  7. Assist with admission and discharge processes.
  8. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care.
  9. Utilize computer systems to input and retrieve patient information.
  10. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  11. Follow all hospital policies and procedures.
  12. Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families.
  13. Attend and actively participate in team meetings and training sessions.
  14. Remain up-to-date on healthcare regulations and best practices.
  15. Handle any other administrative tasks as assigned by the unit manager or supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Unit Clerk At Medstar Health Should Have A Minimum Educational Requirement Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: As A Unit Clerk, It Is Important To Have A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology To Accurately Interpret And Transcribe Medical Orders And Documents.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Crucial In This Role, As Unit Clerks Are Responsible For Relaying Information Between Healthcare Providers, Patients, And Family Members.

  • Proficiency In Electronic Health Records (Ehr): Medstar Health Utilizes Electronic Health Records, So Proficiency In Navigating And Entering Data Into An Ehr System Is Essential For A Unit Clerk.
