- Safely transport patients, equipment, and supplies throughout the facility.
- Ensure timely and efficient transportation of patients, taking into consideration their medical needs and condition.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families to provide a positive and comfortable experience during transportation.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to coordinate and prioritize transportation needs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of transport equipment and vehicles.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while transporting patients, equipment, and supplies.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to providing compassionate care to patients and their families.
- Act as a representative of MedStar Health by maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor at all times.
- Keep accurate records of transportation activities and report any issues or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Attend training and educational sessions to continuously improve knowledge and skills related to patient transport and care.
- Assist in the transfer of patients to and from stretchers, wheelchairs, and other modes of transportation as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
Valid Driver's License: A Transporter At Medstar Health Must Possess A Valid Driver's License In Order To Operate Company Vehicles And Transport Patients Safely.
Clean Driving Record: A Clean Driving Record Is Important For A Transporter As They Will Be Responsible For Transporting Patients And Medical Equipment. Any Accidents Or Traffic Violations Could Jeopardize Patient Safety And The Reputation Of Medstar Health.
Medical Knowledge: While Specific Medical Training Is Not Required, Having A Basic Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Procedures Is Beneficial For A Transporter.
