Job Description

At MedStar Health, we are looking for a talented and motivated Transplant On-Call Coordinator to join our team. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a combination of exceptional organizational and communication skills as well as the ability to think on your feet and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience in a transplant nursing environment and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. They should be able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of transplant operations and the ability to provide comprehensive care to transplant patients. Furthermore, they should be able to work collaborative to ensure the smooth running of the transplant service.If you have the necessary qualifications and experience, and you are looking for an exciting and rewarding challenge, then this could be the perfect role for you.

Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate transplant on-call schedules and ensure that all transplant staff are available to meet the needs of patients.
  2. Monitor patient progress throughout the transplant process and provide comprehensive care to transplant patients.
  3. Manage all transplant operations, including scheduling appointments, making hospital admissions, and coordinating with other staff.
  4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and ensure that all relevant information is documented accurately.
  5. Assist with the coordination of donor and recipient evaluations, including assessments, medical tests, and laboratory results.
  6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth functioning of the transplant service.
  7. Provide education and support to transplant patients and their families throughout the entire process.
  8. Participate in quality assurance activities and develop strategies to improve transplant services.
