Surgical Technologist

MedStar Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join our growing surgical team. This position requires a team player with an eye for detail who is passionate about providing the highest quality care. We are looking for an individual who is organized and able to work independently while collaborating with the surgical team. The ideal candidate will have the ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities, while paying close attention to detail. The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience as a Surgical Technologist in an acute care setting, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification. The ideal candidate must also demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the preparation and support of surgical procedures according to established protocols.
2. Ensure the availability of all necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment needed for surgical procedures.
3. Maintain a safe and sterile environment according to established protocols.
4. Follow established practices in accordance with the policies and procedures set forth by MedStar Health.
5. Monitor and assess patients before, during, and after surgery and report any changes in condition to the surgeon.
6. Maintain accurate records of patient information and surgical procedures.
7. Perform other duties as assigned by the surgical team.
8. Demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills with patients, families, and other health care team members.
9. Maintain current Certified Surgical Technologist certification.
10. Possess the ability to multi-task and work independently while collaborating with the surgical team.
