Job Description

The Surgical Liaison at MedStar Health will be an integral part of the Surgical Services team, ensuring exceptional patient care is provided throughout the surgical process. We are looking for an experienced and compassionate professional with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to join our team. The successful candidate will possess a passion for delivering superior customer service and a commitment to the mission of MedStar Health. The ideal candidate for this position will have a minimum of three years of experience in a surgical environment as a Surgical Liaison, and a post-secondary degree in healthcare or a related field. They will also have a thorough understanding of healthcare procedures, and possess excellent problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will be organized and have the ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about patient care and providing an exemplary service experience. The successful candidate will be a strong team player, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be able to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders. Responsibilities:

  1. Act as the primary liaison between the surgical services team and other healthcare stakeholders.
  2. Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
  3. Ensure that patient care is provided at the highest possible standard throughout the surgical process.
  4. Monitor patient care, including pre-operative and post-operative services, to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
  5. Monitor and update patient records with accurate and up-to-date information.
  6. Assist in the development and implementation of best practices for surgical services.
  7. Provide support to the surgical services team to ensure the successful completion of procedures.
  8. Monitor and track all surgical services costs and expenditures.
  9. Provide feedback and suggestions to improve patient care and operations.
  10. Assist with the development of educational materials and programs for healthcare professionals and staff.
