  1. Prepare sterile medications: The primary responsibility of the Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician will be to prepare sterile medications for patients in accordance with established guidelines and protocols.
  2. Maintain cleanliness and safety standards: The technician will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe compounding environment, following all necessary precautions and protocols to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety.
  3. Accurate record-keeping: The technician will be expected to maintain accurate records of all compounded medications and their ingredients, ensuring proper documentation for quality control and regulatory purposes.
  4. Ensuring compliance: As a vital member of the pharmacy team, the technician will be responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies related to sterile compounding.
  5. Collaborate with pharmacists and other team members: The Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician will work closely with pharmacists and other team members to ensure efficient and accurate medication preparation and dispensing.
  6. Maintain inventory and supplies: The technician will be responsible for monitoring and restocking compounding supplies and medications, ensuring adequate stock levels for patient needs.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of An Accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program: A Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician At Medstar Health Must Have A Solid Foundation In Basic Pharmacy Knowledge And Skills. Completion Of An Accredited Program Ensures That The Technician Has Received Proper Training And Education.

  • Certification As A Pharmacy Technician: Medstar Health Requires Certification As A Pharmacy Technician From A Recognized Organization Such As The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (Ptcb). This Certification Demonstrates That The Technician Has Met Set Standards For Knowledge And Skills In The Field.

  • Experience In Sterile Compounding: Prior Experience In Sterile Compounding Is A Must For This Role. Medstar Health Requires At Least 1-2 Years Of Experience In A Hospital Or Pharmacy Setting Where Sterile Compounding Was A Primary Responsibility.
