RN - Forensic Nurse Examiner

MedStar Health is currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse – Forensic Nurse Examiner to join our team. The ideal candidate is a passionate and compassionate healthcare professional who is eager to make a positive impact in the lives of our patients.In this role, you will provide forensic nursing services to victims of sexual assault, child abuse, and elder abuse. You will coordinate with local law enforcement and work with other medical professionals to provide timely and comprehensive medical care to our patients.The successful candidate must have a valid RN license, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, and at least 1 year of experience in the field of forensic nursing. Additionally, you must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and be committed to providing excellent patient care.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide comprehensive forensic nursing services to victims of sexual assault, child abuse, and elder abuse.
2. Coordinate with local law enforcement to ensure timely and accurate medical care for patients.
3. Maintain a valid RN license and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
4. Utilize strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with other medical professionals and patients.
5. Ensure adherence to all standards of care and protocols for quality patient care.
6. Document all assessments, treatments, and services provided to patients.
7. Provide education and support to patients and families regarding the medical care process.
8. Monitor and evaluate patient progress and adjust treatments accordingly.
9. Remain current with advances in forensic nursing and stay abreast of changes in local laws and regulations.
10. Participate in research and development initiatives related to forensic nursing.
