  1. Assist patients with exercises and activities as directed by the physical therapist or occupational therapist.
  2. Monitor and record patients' progress during therapy sessions.
  3. Prepare treatment areas and equipment for therapy sessions.
  4. Maintain a clean and organized therapy area.
  5. Communicate with therapists and other healthcare team members regarding patients' progress and needs.
  6. Follow infection control and safety procedures at all times.
  7. Document and maintain accurate patient records.
  8. Educate patients and their families on proper techniques for exercises and activities.
  9. Assist in scheduling and coordinating therapy appointments.
  10. Collaborate with therapists to modify treatment plans as needed.
  11. Monitor and report any changes or concerns in patients' conditions to therapists.
  12. Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients during therapy sessions.
  13. Attend training and educational sessions to stay informed on new techniques and technologies in rehabilitation.
  14. Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards in the healthcare industry.
  15. Continuously strive to improve patient outcomes and overall quality of care.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For A Rehab Technician At Medstar Health Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Understanding Of Academic Subjects And Is Capable Of Learning And Following Instructions.

  • Certification In A Related Field: Candidates With A Certification In A Related Field Such As Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Or Kinesiology Are Preferred For The Position Of Rehab Technician At Medstar Health. This Certification Shows That The Candidate Has Received Specialized Training And Possesses The Necessary Skills For The Job.

This Experience Demonstrates The Candidate's Familiarity With Medical Terminology, Equipment, And Procedures, Making Them A Valuable Asset To The Team.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Rehab Technician, One Will Be Working Closely With Patients, Therapists, And Other Healthcare Professionals. Therefore, Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For This Role At Medstar Health. This Includes The Ability To Listen, Follow Instructions, And Collaborate Effectively With Others.
