Registered Nurse Special Care Nursery

MedStar Health is looking for a passionate Registered Nurse to join our Special Care Nursery team. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on patient care and be able to provide a high level of nursing care to mothers, babies, and families. As a Registered Nurse in the Special Care Nursery, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for infants and their families.We are looking for a Registered Nurse who has a current license and a minimum of two years of experience in a Level 3 NICU or Special Care Nursery. Experience in working with high-risk infants in a Level 3 NICU is highly preferred. You must be dedicated to providing excellent patient care and be able to work both independently and in a team environment. Excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, are essential.

Responsibilities:

1. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for infants and their families.
2. Ensure the highest level of patient care is provided.
3. Maintain patient safety and provide a safe environment.
4. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare team members.
5. Provide education and information to patients and families.
6. Maintain and update patient records accurately and in a timely manner.
7. Follow established policies, procedures, and protocols.
8. Work cooperatively with other members of the healthcare team.
9. Monitor vital signs and provide nursing interventions as needed.
10. Monitor and manage pain levels in patients.
11. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
12. Monitor and document patient progress.
13. Participate in performance improvement activities.
14. Participate in continuing education activities to stay up-to-date with current trends and evidence-based practice.
