Registered Nurse Oncology Unit

We are looking for a Registered Nurse to join the Oncology Unit team at MedStar Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients and families in a highly specialized oncology setting. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate and experienced professional with excellent clinical acumen, and a commitment to providing the highest quality of care.Required Qualifications:• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in oncology nursing • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, physicians and other healthcare team members • Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical record systems • Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment• Demonstrated commitment to patient safety and customer service

Responsibilities: • Administer treatments and medications to oncology patients according to physician orders and nursing standards • Monitor patient conditions and progress, and document changes in patient records as needed • Educate patients and families on cancer treatments and care plans • Serve as a patient advocate and provide emotional support to patients and families • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to develop individualized care plans • Manage and coordinate patient care throughout the continuum of care • Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives • Perform administrative tasks such as charting and documentation • Ensure compliance with governing regulations and standards of practice
