Recreation Therapist

MedStar Health is currently seeking a motivated and compassionate Recreation Therapist to join our team in providing exceptional patient care. Our Recreation Therapist will be responsible for creating, organizing, and delivering therapeutic activities to engage patients and promote their physical and mental health in a positive and encouraging manner.The ideal candidate for this role should possess a degree in recreation therapy or a related field, as well as any additional certifications or qualifications required for the position. Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement individualized recreation therapy programs and activities for patients.
2. Assess patient needs and preferences and create plans to meet those needs.
3. Facilitate therapeutic activities to promote physical and mental health.
4. Monitor patient progress and adjust plans as needed.
5. Maintain patient records and document progress.
6. Work closely with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
7. Maintain a positive, patient-focused attitude at all times.
8. Provide education and resources to patients and their families.
9. Adhere to all safety and regulatory standards.
10. Attend relevant continuing education classes and workshops.
