Pulmonary Critical Care Medical Director

The ideal candidate must possess a board certification in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine and have extensive experience in managing a Pulmonary ICU. The Medical Director will have the opportunity to shape the future of Pulmonary Critical Care at MedStar Health and will play an important role in delivering our commitment to excellent patient care. The successful candidate must have a passion for teaching and mentorship, and will have the opportunity to mentor and train medical students, residents, and fellows. Responsibilities:

1. Ensure exceptional patient care is provided to all patients in the Pulmonary Critical Care department.
2. Oversee and manage the Pulmonary ICU.
3. Train and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows in Pulmonary Critical Care.
4. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a cohesive healthcare environment.
5. Utilize interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
6. Participate in research and/or clinical activities as needed.
7. Participate in performance improvement initiatives.
8. Facilitate communication between the Pulmonary Critical Care team and other departments.
9. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
10. Participate in professional development activities and conferences.
