Pharmacy Technician- Billing and informatics

MedStar Health is seeking an experienced, organized, and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician- Billing and Informatics to join our team. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.The Pharmacy Technician- Billing and Informatics will be responsible for accurately and efficiently processing medication invoices and data entry of patient information. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.The successful candidate must have a Pharmacy Technician Certification from the National Pharmacy Technician Association, a high school diploma or equivalent, and one year of experience working in a hospital or clinical setting. The candidate should also have knowledge of medical terminology, experience with computer data entry, and the ability to read, interpret, and enter prescription information into a computer system.We are looking for a motivated individual with excellent communication and customer service skills and a strong commitment to patient care. Responsibilities:

1. Accurately and efficiently process medication invoices and data entry of patient information
2. Prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment
3. Utilize knowledge of medical terminology to read, interpret, and enter prescription information into a computer system
4. Ensure accurate and timely completion of all data entry tasks
5. Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with patients and providers
6. Follow established protocols for processing, verifying and entering prescription information
7. Maintain confidentiality of patient information
8. Keep current with all changes in laws and regulations regarding prescription data entry
9. Assist in resolving any billing or data entry issues as they arise
10. Adhere to ethical standards of the pharmacy profession
