
Pediatric Sedation Nurse

- Administer safe and effective sedation to pediatric patients undergoing procedures and treatments.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and assess their level of sedation throughout the procedure.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to develop individualized sedation plans for each patient.
- Educate patients and their families on the sedation process and address any concerns or questions they may have.
- Ensure all equipment and supplies necessary for sedation are properly prepared and maintained.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to minimize risks and complications during sedation.
- Document patient information, sedation medications, and procedures accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain a calm and reassuring demeanor to help ease patients' anxiety and promote a positive experience.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest sedation techniques and protocols, and implement them in practice as appropriate.
- Act as an advocate for patients and their families, providing emotional support and addressing any issues or concerns that may arise during sedation.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure seamless and coordinated care for patients.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards in sedation nursing practice.
- Attend trainings and educational opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in pediatric sedation nursing.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in performance improvement activities.

Registered Nurse (Rn) License: A Valid Rn License In The State Of Practice Is Required For This Position.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (Pals) Certification: Certification In Pals Is Essential For Providing Safe And Effective Sedation To Pediatric Patients.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Pediatric Nursing Experience: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working With Pediatric Patients In A Hospital Setting.
Sedation Experience: Previous Experience In Administering Sedation To Pediatric Patients Is Preferred, But Not Required.
Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills: The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Team Members Is Crucial For Providing High-Quality Care In A Sedation Unit.
